The Financial Analyst — Investment Analysis is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, analyzing financial performance, conducting market and industry research, and supporting investment decision-making. This position analyzes financial statements, valuation models, market trends, and investment risks to provide accurate and timely insights to investment professionals and senior management.
Conduct financial and investment analysis of companies, securities, funds, and potential investment opportunities.
Analyze financial statements, earnings reports, cash flows, balance sheets, and income statements.
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate company performance and investment potential.
Perform valuation analysis using methodologies such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
Research industries, companies, markets, economic trends, and competitive environments.
Evaluate investment opportunities based on financial performance, valuation, growth prospects, risk, and expected returns.
Monitor existing investments and analyze financial and operational performance.
Track market developments, economic indicators, interest rates, industry trends, and other factors that may affect investment performance.
Prepare investment reports, research summaries, financial models, presentations, and recommendations for senior investment professionals.
Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess potential investment outcomes and risks.
Analyze historical and projected financial performance to identify trends and investment drivers.
Support due diligence activities for prospective investments.
Review company filings, investor presentations, earnings releases, and other financial disclosures.
Compare companies and investments using relevant financial and operating metrics.
Monitor portfolio performance and prepare periodic investment performance reports.
Assist with risk analysis and identify factors that could negatively affect investment value or returns.
Maintain accurate financial models, research documentation, assumptions, and investment databases.
Collaborate with portfolio managers, investment managers, accounting teams, and other financial professionals.
Present analytical findings and investment research to management and investment committees when required.
Support ad-hoc investment research and financial analysis projects.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in investment analysis, financial analysis, equity research, corporate finance, asset management, or a related field.
Strong understanding of financial statements and corporate finance principles.
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate company performance.
Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet analytical deadlines.
CFA designation or progress toward CFA certification.
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Experience with investment research, equity research, portfolio analysis, or asset management.
Knowledge of valuation methodologies, capital markets, and investment strategies.
Experience with financial databases such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, or Refinitiv.
Experience with Python, SQL, or other analytical tools.
Knowledge of fixed income, equities, alternative investments, or other asset classes.
Experience preparing investment committee materials and presentations.
