Role Overview:

The role of the Financial Analyst will be to support the Plant Controller in the execution of the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordination of the month-end closing process, and daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting. Assist in the development of financial plans and forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. Primary day-to-day responsibility will be expense processing; monitoring and reporting inventories, standard cost revisions, and the operating budget will be key responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze Manufacturing Inventory Cost.
  • Maintain Payroll & Fringe expenses and Labor Standards.
  • Maintain & Administer Site's Fixed Assets and Capital Plan.
  • Internal and External reporting requirements.
  • Conduct research, including in-person interviews, observation, process mapping, and surveys.
  • Summarize findings and help to develop recommendations.
  • Improve upon existing business processes, if necessary.
  • Develop various tools to enhance productivity within the department; this could require creating spreadsheets or databases.
  • Prepare user documentation and carry out user training associated with application usage and associated business processes/practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Investigate standard variances.
  • Perform manufacturing analysis.
  • Assist in calculating and planning cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assist and oversee the General Accounting and Cost Accounting functions such as product costing, daily variance analysis, capital management, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly business review package.
  • Review/perform account reconciliations.
  • Participate/back-up for daily reporting, daily checkbook, and OT review.
  • Assist/participate in physical inventories of product inventory and fixed asset inventory.
  • Business unit/corporate requests.
  • Assist in monthly finance close.
  • Support management financial requests for information through detail analysis and reporting.
  • Assist controller in forecasting/budgeting as needed.
  • Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
  • Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions.
  • Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree, or three (3) years of related experience in business process modeling or database design. A combination of appropriate education and experience is also acceptable.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and make recommendations based on that analysis.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience using Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, and Access. PowerPoint and Project experience is useful, but not mandatory.
  • Experience developing systematic and manual operations procedures.
