Jefferson Healthcare is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst who understands that healthcare finance is about much more than producing reports or explaining what happened last month.
This person will help leaders understand why something happened.
Why did revenue move?
What is driving a variance?
Does the data make sense?
Is what we are seeing a meaningful operational change—or simply normal fluctuation?
And when something does not add up, this analyst will be expected to follow the question all the way back to its source.
The Financial Planning & Analysis team at Jefferson Healthcare is continuing to grow and evolve, creating an opportunity for someone who enjoys not only analyzing financial performance, but also building better processes, improving reporting, asking good questions, and helping leaders make better decisions.
The strongest candidates will bring at least three years of healthcare financial analysis experience and already understand the fundamentals of hospital revenue, reimbursement, budgeting, forecasting, and operations.

Jefferson Healthcare is a community-focused healthcare organization serving Port Townsend and the surrounding communities of Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
It is the kind of healthcare organization where financial decisions are not abstract.
Budgets affect staffing.
Staffing affects access.
Operational performance affects the services that can remain available locally.
And strong financial stewardship helps ensure that a community can continue receiving exceptional healthcare close to home.
The FP&A team partners with leaders throughout the organization to understand performance, identify opportunities, improve financial and operational processes, and support thoughtful decision-making.
For someone who loves healthcare finance but also wants to understand what the numbers mean to the people and community behind them, this is an especially meaningful opportunity.
As Financial Analyst, you will work across financial, operational, labor, and clinical information to help Jefferson Healthcare understand performance and make informed decisions.
Your work will include:
You will collaborate with teams including:
For this particular search, healthcare financial analysis experience is important.

For that reason, Jefferson Healthcare is seeking candidates with:
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible financial analysis experience in a healthcare environment.
Candidates should already understand the fundamentals of healthcare finance and be capable of getting up to speed quickly within the organization.

Professional credentials that would also be attractive include:
A master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field is also preferred, but not required.

Jefferson Healthcare's FP&A team is still relatively new, and its processes continue to evolve.
For the right person, that is part of what makes this opportunity exciting.
There is room to think.
Room to build.
Room to improve.
And room to help shape how financial planning and analysis continues to support the organization.
This may be one of the most important qualities Jefferson Healthcare is looking for.
They want someone who notices.
Someone who can look at a report and think:
That doesn't make sense.
And then investigate.
Ask questions.
Validate the information.
Find where the discrepancy originated.
Understand whether it represents a real operational issue.
And follow it all the way through to resolution.
This is not simply a role for someone who completes the assigned analysis and moves on to the next spreadsheet.
It is for someone who wants to understand why.
This position is primarily remote, but remote does not mean disconnected.
The Financial Analyst will need to be highly self-directed while remaining responsive, collaborative, and actively engaged with the FP&A team and leaders across Jefferson Healthcare.
You should be comfortable:
The team also values spending intentional time together, which is why travel to Port Townsend is expected at least once annually for planned team building, with travel and lodging covered.
Behind every healthcare budget, forecast, reimbursement assumption, staffing decision, service-line analysis, and operational variance are real healthcare services being delivered to real people.
Strong financial analysis gives healthcare leaders the ability to see what is happening sooner.
To understand why.
To make adjustments.
To invest wisely.
To use resources responsibly.
And ultimately, to preserve and strengthen healthcare services for the community they serve.
The Financial Analyst will help Jefferson Healthcare make those connections.
If you love healthcare finance, enjoy solving complicated problems, are naturally curious about data, and want your work to contribute to a community-focused healthcare organization, we would love to learn more about you.
