Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Education Office of State Schools is hiring a Financial Analyst Supervisor under the direct supervision of the State Schools Budget & Finance Manager, the Central Office Financial Analyst Supervisor will serve as the primary liaison between the three State Schools—Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, Georgia Academy for the Blind, Georgia School for the Deaf—the Outreach Program, and the Central Office. Occasional travel may be required.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinating and facilitating effective communication and collaboration among the three State Schools and the GaDOE Contracts Support Unit.
• Overseeing the State Schools’ new and renewal contract processes from initiation through review, execution, finalization, and closeout, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs the essential procurement functions of a Buyer such as create requisitions for purchase and receiver generation.
• Account Payable. Process receipts/invoices for payment.
• Responsible for reconciling State Schools My School Bucks cash management system.
• Supporting Federal Programs within the three State Schools in effectively managing budgetary and financial processes, including monitoring, financial reporting, and procurement activities.
• Pcard use and reconciliation.
• Assist with overseeing State Schools financial processes in ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices related to financial operations.
• All other duties assigned by the Budget and Finance Manager.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
• Experience with Financial software/TGM/Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payables/Requisitions/Purchase Orders/Receivers/Vendor Management
• Two or more years of experience with governmental accounting at the paraprofessional or professional level
• Experience preparing detailed accounting and budget reports
• Experience with Purchasing Card use and reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Account reconciliation
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) certification
• Professional customer service skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree and four (4) years of professional job-related experience in accounting, billing and collection systems, or claims, which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or six (6) years of professional job-related experience in general accounting, billing and collection systems, and/or claims which include two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Financial Analyst 3 (FIP062) or position equivalent.
