Position Details

Location: St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Employment Status: Full-Time

Work Environment: Onsite

Position Summary

The Financial Assistance Caseworker is responsible for identifying patients who may qualify for financial and social assistance programs through public agencies and community resources. This role assesses patients' financial and social circumstances, serves as a liaison between patients, families, and public agencies, and ensures accurate documentation of assessments and approvals. The Financial Assistance Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting patient access to care and financial resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient eligibility for financial and social assistance programs
• Assist patients and families in navigating available public assistance resources
• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and public agencies
• Accurately document assessments, applications, and approval outcomes
• Maintain knowledge of applicable assistance programs and eligibility requirements
• Collaborate with internal departments and community partners
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Experience

• Five (5) years of social work or public assistance experience with a high school diploma

OR

• One (1) year of social work or public assistance experience with a bachelor's degree

Preferred

• Knowledge of community resources available to unfunded or underfunded patients
• Experience working with Medicaid, charity programs, and other public assistance resources
