Financial Assistant
Join our client, a prestigious research institution dedicated to advancing scientific understanding, as a Financial Assistant. In this critical role, you will support the Finance team in managing financial operations that underpin groundbreaking scientific research. Your contributions will help ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and smooth administrative processes, playing a key part in supporting the institution’s mission to push the boundaries of knowledge.

Compensation
Hourly: $26.00 - $28.00/hr

Onsite expectations: fully onsite

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in reconciling financial data by detecting and resolving discrepancies to maintain integrity.
  • Prepare and record manual journal entries to address identified issues or adjustments.
  • Assist with routine accounting duties to support financial operations.
  • Aid in developing and distributing financial reports across various funding sources.
  • Contribute to expense tracking and monitoring activities to ensure budget compliance.
  • Review procurement requests to confirm expenses are permissible, appropriate, and within designated budgets.
  • Support updates related to occupancy data, including rent and space allocations, as required.
  • Provide additional financial support to the BFS team to facilitate smooth financial workflows.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial reconciliation and accounting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with team members.
  • Proficiency with financial software and reporting tools.
  • Associate degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
