    Description

    Financial Clearance Coordinator
    Southwoods Health is hiring a Financial Clearance Coordinator to oversee our Financial Clearance Department at the Southwoods Executive Centre in Boardman. In this role, you will be responsible for training, implementing, and monitoring business processes that facilitate insurance verification, point-of-service estimates, and medical necessity compliance.
     

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Team Leadership: Provide direct supervision, onboarding, and training for financial clearance personnel; manage payroll, scheduling, performance appraisals, and real-time coaching.
    • Quality Assurance: Monitor operational metrics—including productivity, verification rates, and point-of-service collections—to maintain process compliance and efficiency.
    • Compliance & Regulations: Stay informed on and educate staff regarding changing payer rules and government regulations, specifically the No Surprises Act and Price Transparency laws.
    • Denial Prevention: Assist with root-cause analysis and lead strategic front-end denial prevention initiatives.
    • Process Optimization: Recommend updates to Patient Access policies to ensure strict alignment with state, federal, and regulatory agency standards (e.g., OSHA, ODH, TJC).
    • Operations Support: Perform hands-on financial clearance functions and other coverage duties as needed to support operations.
     
     
    Qualifications:
    • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a Patient Access role; 1–3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Education: Coursework or training in business office activities, computer skills, and medical terminology.
    • Certification: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) designation preferred.
    • Skills: Strong communication, clinical problem-solving, and attention to detail, backed by a professional demeanor and strong ethical principles.
     
     
    Schedule & Position Type:
    Status: Full-Time
    Hours: Day shift, Monday–Friday
    Location: On-site / In office
