We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller to
join our growing team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will manage
financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support
the company’s growth through effective financial analysis and reporting. This is
an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work from our Des Moines office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting operations, including the preparation of financial
statements, balance sheets, and cash flow management.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and
timeliness of financial reporting.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to
management for strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and
accounting standards.
• Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
and prevent fraud.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, payroll processing, and tax
preparation.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and monitor business performance metrics.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior
leadership.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA
certification preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in a financial management or controlling role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and
Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in
a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with
team members and stakeholders.
• Prior experience in managing payroll, taxes, and compliance with federal and
state regulations is a plus.
