Financial Controller

An established owner-operator of commercial real estate is hiring a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting across its portfolio. Reporting to the CFO, you'll take ownership of the books, the close process, and the accounting team.

What you'll own:

\n

• \n
• All accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, cash, payroll oversight, fixed assets
• \n
• Multi-entity and partnership financial statements
• \n
• Retail lease accounting (base rent, percentage rent, CAM, recoveries, tenant reconciliations)
• \n
• Annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections
• \n
• Banking relationships, debt compliance, lender reporting
• \n
• Audit coordination, tax schedule prep, and internal controls
• \n
• Accounting systems oversight (MRI Software or similar)
• \n
• A small accounting team
• \n

What you bring:

\n

• \n
• Bachelor's in accounting or finance; CPA preferred, not required
• \n
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience, 5+ in a senior management role
• \n
• Commercial real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
• \n
• Strong GAAP and partnership accounting knowledge
• \n
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• \n
• MRI Software experience a plus
• \n
