Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee and manage the company’s financial operations. This role is responsible for accounting functions, customer credit control, payroll and payroll tax administration, and sales and use tax compliance. The Financial Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, support cash flow management, and ensure compliance with all applicable financial and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

· Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

· Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

· Manage month-end and year-end close processes.

· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

· Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed.

· Develop and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.

Customer Credit Control

· Manage customer credit evaluation and approval processes.

· Monitor accounts receivable aging and oversee collections activities.

· Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment issues and reduce overdue accounts.

· Establish and enforce credit policies to minimize financial risk and improve cash flow.

· Prepare regular reports on customer balances, collection status, and bad debt exposure.

Payroll & Payroll Tax

· Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

· Manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting including W-2s and related filings.

· Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.

· Coordinate with HR regarding employee compensation changes, benefits deductions, and payroll-related matters.

Sales & Use Tax Compliance

· Manage sales and use tax reporting and filings across applicable jurisdictions.

· Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns and remittances.

· Monitor tax law changes and maintain compliance with state and local tax requirements.

· Support audits related to sales and use tax matters.

· Maintain exemption certificates and related tax documentation.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

· CPA designation preferred.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll processing, payroll tax, and sales/use tax regulations.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Past Credential Experiences:

· Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar senior finance role.

· Experience managing multi-state payroll, tax compliance, and customer credit functions.

· Track record of implementing and improving financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems.

· Familiarity with cross-border business operations and financial documentation.

Preferred Skills

· Experience in multi-state tax and payroll environments.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Experience improving financial processes and internal controls.

· Proficient in reading and writing Chinese (Traditional or Simplified).

· Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese for business correspondence, documentation, and customer support.
