Pay Range: $16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This role offers the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after approximately 6 months of training, based on performance and department needs.

As a Patient Financial Counselor at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in providing accurate cost estimates and managing patient account balances. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, confident in navigating financial conversations, and able to think critically when reviewing insurance coverage, billing details, and payment options.
You will serve as a trusted resource for patients, helping them understand their financial responsibility while ensuring accurate and timely collections. Your ability to analyze information, communicate clearly, and guide patients through complex situations will directly impact both patient experience and organizational success.
Prepare and provide accurate patient cost estimates based on insurance benefits, provider orders, and scheduled services. Review patient accounts to identify balances, coverage details, and appropriate collection strategies. Communicate clearly with patients regarding financial responsibility, payment options, and available resources. Collect payments at time of service and follow up on outstanding balances in a timely and professional manner. Work closely with clinical departments, billing teams, and insurance providers to ensure accurate information and coordination of care. Maintain detailed and compliant documentation within billing systems. Apply critical thinking to resolve discrepancies, research account issues, and identify appropriate next steps.

High school diploma or GED required
1–2 years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance, collections, or financial services preferred
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze insurance benefits, estimates, and account balances
Confidence in discussing financial information with patients in a clear and professional manner
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with computer systems and billing software
Excellent communication and customer service skills
