Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Financial Counselor to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

Interfaces with patients, PNHS staff, Insurance providers, and County Social Services and vendors to meet the needs of the patient. Financial Counselors provides price estimates for hospital and clinic visits, estimate insurance reimbursements, educate about Park Nicollet financial assistance programs and help with completing any necessary paperwork, accept payments for clinic and hospital accounts and assist in applying for federal and state benefit programs on-site at Methodist Hospital.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • Must complete Insurance Selection Specialist certification and maintain certification yearly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated P/C and keyboard experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proven skills in organizing, planning and self-directing own assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and to handle stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and accurately in writing and verbally.
  • High degree of competency and attention to detail in the use of basic of arithmetic.
  • Working knowledge of general financial proceedings, government rules and regulations and insurance related to healthcare and a demonstrated ability to use that knowledge for problem solving.
  • Personal computers, copiers, fax machines, telephones, credit card machines and scanners are equipment likely to be used.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Post high school degree or certification.
  • 2- 3 years healthcare experience that includes registration
  • Healthcare insurance and revenue experience
