In this position, the incumbent will compute, classify, and analyze numerical data and financial records. The incumbent must also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions.

Position location: Tysons Corner, VA

Travel: This position will require travel to other project sites as needed

Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our finance team to support M.C. Dean's Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. The successful candidate will interact with project teams and customers on a regular basis. The candidate will manage the finances, accounting, and contract compliance for large multi-year projects and programs. Responsibilities include the following:

• Work closely with Project Leadership team to validate estimated project costs to complete
• Understand the construction project lifecycle and translate changes in scope and schedule into meaningful budget and financial updates
• Lead Key Performance Reviews (KPRs) with Project Leadership teams to understand project status and costs to complete. Review and update month-end adjustments.
• Assist with cost, pricing, and reviews of proposals and change orders to verify accuracy and adherence to contractual requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing submissions on monthly basis
• Assist Project Leadership team in establishing Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) at the time of award and ensure WBS is maintained throughout the project
• Provide and update 36-month revenue and gross profit projections on a quarterly basis for assigned projects. Review with Senior Manager, Controller, and Operational Leadership
• Support overall business unit month end processing and reporting. Prepare and present financial results in Monthly Operational Unit Financial Review
• Produce Ad-hoc reporting for project managers and executives as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of construction industry experience
• Experience in construction project estimating
• Experience with Schedule of Values (SOV) invoicing to General Contractors
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
• Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.
• Use of accounting principles to solve problems

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Pay Range

USD $130,480.00 - USD $169,200.00 /Yr.
