We are seeking a Financial Modeling Contractor with advanced expertise in AXIS actuarial modeling to support model conversion, development, quality assurance, and reconciliation activities. The successful candidate will develop and analyze financial and actuarial models, support project feasibility assessments, and provide reliable insights for strategic decision-making. This role will focus primarily on AXIS conversion support, including the build, testing, validation, and reconciliation of AXIS models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain detailed financial and actuarial models using AXIS.
- Support AXIS conversion initiatives, including Model build and configuration, Data mapping and assumption review, Model testing and quality assurance, Reconciliation to legacy CASE and/or Prophet models, Investigation and resolution of model variances
- Develop models across one or more of the following areas Regular Life, Universal Life, Asset modules
- Analyze financial and actuarial data to identify, Trends and variances, Key performance indicators, Model differences and drivers, Data quality issues and anomalies
- Forecast business performance and assess project feasibility using robust modeling techniques.
- Gather and validate data, assumptions, product specifications, and business requirements with project team members and stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive financial and actuarial reports, model documentation, analysis, and stakeholder presentations.
- Perform thorough validation and testing to ensure model accuracy, consistency, integrity, and reproducibility.
- Document model methodology, assumptions, test results, reconciliation outcomes, and identified issues.
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, technology, and business stakeholders to support project delivery.
- Communicate findings, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 6-9 years of experience in actuarial modeling, financial modeling, insurance analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced AXIS experience.
- Demonstrated experience with AXIS model development and/or actuarial model conversion.
- Experience supporting AXIS conversion activities, including model build, QA, testing, and reconciliation.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Regular Life products, Universal Life products, AXIS Asset modules
- Strong understanding of financial modeling principles, actuarial concepts, model validation, and data analysis.
- Experience analyzing model outputs and reconciling results to legacy platforms or reference models.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a project-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CASE and/or Prophet models.
- Prior experience performing conversions from CASE or Prophet to AXIS.
- Experience with insurance product modeling, actuarial assumptions, and model governance.
- Familiarity with model testing frameworks, automated validation, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience preparing technical documentation and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Background in life insurance, actuarial consulting, financial services, or insurance technology.
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $65 - $75 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
