Job Description

Financial Operations Intern

Venture Home SolarLocation: Stamford CT

About the Role

Venture Home Solar is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Financial Operations Intern to support our residential energy projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with operations teams, financing partners, and customers to help completed installations move through documentation review and financing submission.

This is an opportunity to build communication, project coordination, and business systems skills while learning about solar energy, battery storage, EV chargers, and the growing residential energy industry. Prior solar or financing experience is not required—we’re looking for someone curious, dependable, and eager to learn.

What You’ll Do

  • Help review installation photos, contracts, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting project documentation to financing partners.
  • Track project progress, outstanding items, and follow-up tasks in company systems.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to collect missing photos, documents, and project information.
  • Communicate directly with customers, with team guidance, to obtain missing information or signatures and explain next steps.
  • Keep records organized and provide clear updates to the team.
  • Learn how residential solar, batteries, and EV chargers are installed and financed.
  • Help identify ways to improve documentation and daily workflows.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a consistent approach to staying organized.
  • Willingness to ask questions, learn new systems, and follow through on tasks.
  • Technical curiosity and an interest in understanding how energy technology works.
  • Comfort using computers, spreadsheets, and online tools.
  • A friendly, professional approach to working with customers and teammates.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with guidance and communicate when help is needed.

Students and early-career candidates interested in business, finance, operations, renewable energy, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Gain

  • Practical experience in financial operations and project coordination.
  • Exposure to the residential solar and energy industry.
  • Experience communicating with customers, financing partners, and internal teams.
  • Hands-on practice using business systems to manage documentation and track projects.
  • Training and guidance from experienced team members.
