Our client is a rapidly scaling, operationally excellent technology company that is fundamentally modernizing critical infrastructure for the digital age. Backed by top-tier venture capital, they build seamless, reliable hardware and software solutions that power the modern enterprise.
We are looking for a versatile, sharp, and execution-oriented Financial Operations & Accounting Lead with 3 to 6 years of experience to own and scale our accounting and financial infrastructure. In this role, nothing is beneath you, and nothing is too big. You might be selecting and implementing a new enterprise ERP system one day and rolling up your sleeves to chase down an outstanding payment the next. Your mission is to build the foundational systems, workflows, and controls that ensure the business scales efficiently and with absolute financial integrity.
What Will You Do:
You will completely map out our existing workflows, spot inefficiencies before they become bottlenecks, and implement multiple new systems across revenue, billing, and accounts payable.
Own the selection, deployment, and optimization of financial software for reporting, billing, procurement, and audits.
Strengthen and accelerate the month-end close process, transitioning it into a highly efficient, scalable machine.
Partner across departments to guide financial decisions, optimize cash management, and ensure robust accounting controls as inventory and operations expand.
Over time, build and mentor a high-performing financial operations team that values both how the work gets done and the results achieved.
Key Requirements:
Experience: 3–6 years of professional accounting experience, ideally starting with a strong foundation at a Big 4 accounting firm (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG).
Startup Agility: Proven experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment (ideally Series A to C, 50–500 employees).
Process Ownership: Direct experience owning end-to-end financial workflows, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, and complex financial systems.
Systems & Audits: A proven track record of successfully implementing/optimizing financial tech stacks and leading corporate audits.
Industry Exposure: Hands-on experience working within businesses that manage physical inventory or hardware.
Technical & Hard Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis (deep in spreadsheets) alongside a flawless grasp of core accounting principles (accrual accounting, month-end close).
Location: Must be based in the Bay Area and able to commute to the San Francisco office 3 days a week.
