We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to support card services and accounting operations within a credit union environment. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting card-related transactions, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day member service operations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a member-focused setting.
Responsibilities
Process and reconcile card-related transactions, settlements, and general ledger entries.
Monitor card activity for accuracy, exceptions, and discrepancies, and research issues as needed.
Support accounting functions including balancing, journal entries, month-end close activities, and reporting.
Assist with the administration of debit, credit, and related card services.
Respond to internal inquiries and coordinate with vendors, processors, and team members to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and accuracy within card services and accounting workflows.
Support audits, examinations, and reporting requests by preparing documentation and account analysis.
Qualifications
Experience in accounting, card operations, financial services, or a related administrative function.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with financial data.
Working knowledge of reconciliation practices, general ledger processes, and transaction balancing.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Comfort working with financial systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in a credit union or other financial institution.
Familiarity with card processing platforms and settlement procedures.
Understanding of regulatory requirements and internal control practices.
Experience supporting month-end or year-end accounting cycles.
