The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager leads the College's budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with senior leadership to enhance financial transparency, improve operational efficiency, and ensure alignment between financial resources and institutional priorities. The FP&A Manager plays a key role in strengthening financial accountability and advancing the College's long-term financial sustainability. This position reports to the CFO and does not currently have any direct reports. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Budget:
Create and manage the development of the College-wide budget, collaborating closely with the the CFO/VP of Finance, Controller, President's leadership team, Budget managers, and others. Provide ongoing analysis and reporting on budget vs. actual spending. Develop and deliver budget reports for senior leadership and department leaders, turning data into clear, innovative, and actionable information. Lead the presentations and discussions with various stakeholders throughout the college on budget, actual spending, forecasting, and other related topics to ensure that the views of representatives from across campus are captured and incorporated as appropriate into the planning process. Serve as a main conduit of information sharing with campus stakeholders. Manage the technical aspects of the budget within the College's ERP system. Provide education and training on budget methodology, process and system.
Financial Analysis:
Enhance and manage the College's forecasting model. Provide detailed forecasting reports with variance analysis. Lead scenario planning and financial modeling to support key institutional initiatives and long-term planning. Serve as a strategic partner to the CFO/VP of Finance and senior leadership. Develop models, metrics, reports, charts, and automated operational solutions where feasible. Develop and maintain the College's financial dashboard. Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and data integrity. Translate financial data into actionable insights and communications methods to support decision-making across the College.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate on college committees providing business acumen. Assist with debt management supporting the CFO/Vice President of Finance and Controller during the capital financing process. Provide exemplary service to the role's stakeholders, including both internal and external constituents. Provide coordination with the Advancement Division and Controller's office to ensure endowment funds are appropriately moved, recorded, and released to the appropriate budgetary group. Support the development of information and slide decks for various Board of Trustees and subcommittee meetings, including the Institutional Resource Group (IRG), Budget Committee, Investment Committee, and other committees as requested.
