    Job Summary

    The Financial Reporting Analyst I prepares and supports the filing of quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory-basis financial statements, MD&A and related exhibits. This position is also responsible for performing the U.S. statutory-basis accounting for certain balances, including review of supporting analysis and preparing journal entries and analysis as needed to adjust from GAAP to STAT reporting.     What you'll do
    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports, MD&A, and related exhibits, including basic variance analysis and key performance indicators.
    • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual statement filings and related external reporting requirements.
    • Contribute to and participate in preparing annual/quarterly financial statement audit requirements.
    • Monitor financial performance and assist in identifying trends or potential risks.
    • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    • Participate in ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed.
    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging financial practices, and regulatory changes.

    What you need

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (STAT).
    • Specialized knowledge of costing, line of business, and governmental accounting is needed for certain aspects of this role.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial transactions.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required
    • 0-3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or a related field.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Normal office environment.
    • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

    Compensation

    $64,400-80,500 annually
