The Team You’ll Join
The Financial Reporting team at Envestnet sits at the core of the company’s financial integrity and transparency, leading critical processes that power external reporting, investor reporting and internal decision-making. From preparing and overseeing consolidated financial statements to supporting executive and Board-level reporting, the team ensures accuracy, clarity, and confidence in how financial performance is communicated across the business and to the market.
Beyond reporting, the team operates as a strategic partner across Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, and the broader organization—shaping business narratives, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous improvement through automation and process transformation. With a strong focus on governance, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration, Financial Reporting team plays a pivotal role in enabling Envestnet to scale, adapt, and deliver on its mission in an increasingly complex and regulated fintech landscape.
How You’ll Contribute
The Financial Reporting Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the company’s external and internal financial reporting activities. This role is accountable for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all SEC filings and management reporting, while also serving as a key advisor to senior finance leadership on disclosure strategy, complex accounting matters, and reporting governance.
Building on the foundation of the Financial Reporting Analyst role, the Director owns end‑to‑end reporting outcomes, leads and develops a team, drives continuous improvement in reporting processes and controls, and partners cross‑functionally to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements.
- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K, ensuring technical accuracy, completeness, and clear disclosures.
- Oversee consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, exercising professional judgment on complex accounting and disclosure matters.
- Monitor and interpret new accounting standards, SEC rules, and disclosure requirements; assess impact and lead implementation efforts
- Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors, regulators, and internal legal partners on reporting and compliance matters.
- Own consolidated management reporting, including executive, Board, and ad‑hoc reporting packages used for strategic decision‑making.
- Partner with FP&A and senior finance leaders to ensure alignment between external reporting, internal performance metrics, and business narratives.
- Review and challenge data integrity, trends, and key drivers underlying reported results.
- Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership on reporting risks, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks in reporting processes; drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support enterprise initiatives such as system implementations, business combinations, or structural changes from a reporting and disclosure perspective.
What You’ll Need to Bring
- 8+ years of experience in a national public accounting firm or corporate accounting department with SEC reporting responsibilities (10-K and 10-Q preparation and filing experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- Progressive experience in financial reporting, SEC reporting, or technical accounting, including leadership responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX controls.
- Experience managing external audits and complex reporting timelines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Our Investment in You
This role offers a base salary range of $129,000 to $161,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
