About the Opportunity
An established, financially strong national services organization is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join its Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced CPA coming from a Big 4 or large public accounting firm who enjoys technical accounting, financial reporting, and solving complex accounting issues—but is looking for a career outside of public accounting.
This position offers a rare opportunity to learn a  specialized area of financial reporting directly from a long-tenured subject matter expert who is retiring after a successful career with the company. The successful candidate will receive extensive training and mentorship while developing expertise in an area of accounting that is both technically challenging and professionally rewarding.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial and regulatory reporting packages.
  • Research and interpret complex accounting guidance and prepare technical accounting analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial data and reconcile reporting differences between various reporting bases.
  • Support external audits, regulatory examinations, and internal compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in accounting guidance and reporting requirements, evaluating their impact on the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for finance leadership and business partners.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Approximately 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Current or recent experience with a Big 4 or large regional/national public accounting firm.
  • Audit Manager or Senior Manager experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to research complex accounting matters and communicate recommendations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving financial services or regulated industry clients.
  • Experience with financial reporting, technical accounting, or regulatory reporting.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Experience mentoring or leading engagement teams.
  • Exposure to enterprise reporting systems such as Oracle, Workiva, SAP, OneStream, or similar platforms.
Prior industry experience in this specialized reporting area is not required. Comprehensive training will be provided by the retiring incumbent, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong public accounting foundation who is eager to develop expertise in a unique and highly valued discipline.
