Financial Reporting Manager

Role Overview

An organization is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting & Accounting Systems to drive reporting enhancements, data governance, and system optimization initiatives. This role bridges accounting and technology, focusing on improving financial reporting capabilities, strengthening internal controls, and implementing scalable, system-driven solutions. The ideal candidate is analytical, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of financial and accounting reports for internal stakeholders and leadership
• \n
• Oversee governance and structure of financial data, including chart of accounts, reporting hierarchies, and account groupings
• \n
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate accounting and operational requirements into system-based solutions
• \n
• Design and validate data queries and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis for management
• \n
• Support the preparation and enhancement of recurring internal reporting packages, including leadership-level materials
• \n
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen internal controls
• \n
• Collaborate with internal technology teams to prioritize and execute system enhancements, upgrades, and automation initiatives
• \n
• Gather and document business requirements and support system implementations, including testing and user acceptance processes
• \n
• Evaluate and leverage emerging tools and technologies, including automation and AI-driven solutions, to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities
• \n
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data integrity, reporting processes, and system functionality
• \n
• Maintain documentation of reporting processes, system changes, and internal controls
• \n
• Work independently while contributing to cross-functional initiatives and team objectives

Qualifications

• \n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
• \n
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• \n
• Experience with ERP or financial systems in a reporting, systems, or data-focused capacity
• \n
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, data structures, and accounting processes
• \n
• Experience with SQL or similar data tools preferred
• \n
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools (Access or similar a plus)
• \n
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• \n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• \n
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across finance and technology teams
