EYs State and Local Tax (SALT) team is a growing practice within the organization, and youll see that growth reflected in your career. As a Tax Senior, youll have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and expanding team that has experienced significant recent growth and aims to double in size over the next few years. With support from some of the most engaging professionals in the business, you can expect to develop your tax technical skills, management techniques, and business experience considerably. Step into a pivotal role where you will advise on indirect tax regulatory changes and support compliance and reporting needs for both public and private entities. You'll develop and implement strategies, operating models, and compliance frameworks to manage indirect taxes throughout the tax lifecycle, increasing operational efficiency and ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Your key responsibilities
Youll likely spend most of your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities, and tasks, with a focus on tax controversy and advisory matters. To be successful in the role, youll leverage your knowledge of state and local tax concepts and law while working in a highly collaborative culture where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is essential.
As a Senior in Indirect Tax, you will contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions, and projects, applying sound judgment and selecting appropriate methodologies to inform recommendations. You'll be accountable for meeting your own targets, which directly impact your immediate team, and may help coordinate the work of junior colleagues. You'll define and execute deliverables, track project status, and maintain engagement economics reports. The role presents the challenge of working on complex issues where analysis of variable factors is required, and you'll have the opportunity to learn through daily client interaction and exposure to diverse tax scenarios. This position would need regular travel as required by external clients.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
Bay Area California offices - $102,200 to $153,500
All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $81,700 to $135,000
Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
