Position Overview
This position is responsible for coordinating payroll activities while assisting with business office operations and employee onboarding. Payroll is the primary focus of this role, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with company policies and payroll procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Review timecards for accuracy and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Audit employee timekeeping records
- Maintain payroll records and employee files
- Assist employees with payroll questions and timekeeping issues
- Ensure payroll compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Prepare payroll reports and maintain strict confidentiality of employee information
Business Office Support
- Support daily business office operations
- Answer phones and greet visitors professionally
- Assist with filing, record maintenance, and administrative duties
- Maintain organized payroll and personnel records
Human Resources & Onboarding
- Assist new employees through the onboarding process
- Complete new hire paperwork, including I-9s, E-Verify, payroll setup, and pre-employment requirements
- Maintain personnel files and employment records
- Assist with benefit enrollment information
- Support employment verifications, Workers' Compensation reporting, OSHA logs, and leave tracking
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) to five (5) years of payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and general accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred
- Associate degree (2-year degree) in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
- Healthcare or long-term care experience preferred
- Experience with payroll software, HRIS systems, and electronic timekeeping systems
