Location: Burns Harbor, IN / Cleveland, OH

Cleveland-Cliffs is looking for a Financial Systems Analyst either in Burns Harbor, Indiana or Cleveland, OH. This individual will serve as a key partner in optimizing and advancing the companys financial systems and related applications. This role combines financial knowledge with technical capability to ensure accurate reporting, optimize system performance, and drive continuous process improvements across the organization. Ideal candidates thrive in dynamic environments, proactively identify opportunities for enhancement, and play a meaningful role in improving how our financial systems support the business.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review and coordinate system and process modifications with IT and business stakeholders, ensuring requirements are aligned, risks are identified, and changes are implemented with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to analyze current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements to processes, reporting, and system utilization.
  • Oversee and deliver system and process improvement initiatives, ensuring solutions comply with standards, documentation is maintained, and project activities are coordinated across IT and business teams.
  • Shape project outcomes by developing clear scopes, detailed requirements, realistic timelines, and risk assessments that protect system stability and ensure successful delivery.
  • Execute configuration updates and service requests with a high level of accuracy, documentation, and awareness of downstream impacts to safeguard system integrity.
  • Perform system tasks that support close, forecasting, and audit cycles, ensuring data accuracy and resolving issues swiftly without compromising control standards.
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls for financial systems, maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop business intelligence tools, reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support communication, analysis, and control objectives.
  • Produce clear, accessible documentation and conduct training that builds user capability and ensures consistent, disciplined use of financial systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate standardized system procedures, ensuring procedures remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with internal controls and operational standards.
  • Contribute to other initiatives or responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business system and financial reporting needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, financial systems, data analysis, or related business/technical roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel, with strong overall computer skills and comfort adopting new technologies.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company generally does not sponsor candidates for temporary visas or permanent residency for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced qualifications (MBA, CMA, CPA) that demonstrate strategic financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience implementing or supporting financial reporting systems or ERP platforms with familiarity in major enterprise systems such as Hyperion, SAP, or Oracle E-Business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and interpret financial or systems data.
  • Proficiency with Power BI for analytics dashboarding or data visualization.
  • Experience with automation tools or AI-enhanced process improvements with interest in leveraging these technologies to modernize and streamline financial processes.
