Located on a beautiful lakefront property in Midlothian, Virginia, we specialize in luxury, museum-quality portraits created to become meaningful works of art that families enjoy for generations.

We are looking for an experienced, highly detail-oriented Fine Art Photo Lab & Production Specialist to join our in-house team.

This is NOT an entry-level Photoshop position.

We are specifically looking for someone with professional experience in Photoshop, color correction, color management and large-format printing who also enjoys hands-on production and craftsmanship.

What You'll Do

You will help take our portraits from the finished digital image all the way through production to the completed piece of fine art.

Preparing professional portrait files in Adobe Photoshop

Performing high-level portrait retouching and digital finishing

Expert color correction of portraits and skin tones

Preparing files for professional printing

Operating professional large-format printers

Managing color consistency from monitor to finished portrait

Working with monitor calibration, printer profiles and professional color-management workflows

Inspecting prints for accurate color, density, sharpness and overall quality

Cutting and trimming finished portraits

Mounting portraits

Applying protective finishes and coatings

Preparing artwork for framing

Framing finished portraits

Performing final quality-control inspections

Packaging finished artwork for our clients

Assisting with portrait deliveries

Maintaining an exceptionally clean and organized production area

Assisting our Client Services Team by telephone and in person when needed

Working closely with our artists and production team to maintain Butler Portraits' quality standards

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

Deliver consistent, high-quality portraits that meet client and organizational standards with a 95% acceptance rate at final approval

Ensure reliability and timeliness by completing 90% of projects within agreed timelines

Support client outcomes with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) 80

Contribute to organizational knowledge by authoring or updating at least two technique documents annually

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

High acceptance rate at final approval

On-time delivery of projects

Average quality score from independent reviews

Client satisfaction score

Number of standards and technique documents updated annually

What We're Looking For

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of professional experience in Photoshop, professional photographic printing, fine art production, commercial printing, or a related field.

Adobe Photoshop

Professional color correction

Accurate skin-tone correction

Color management

Large-format printing

Preparing professional image files for print

Quality control and attention to detail

Experience with mounting, canvas production, print finishing, framing, Lightroom, Bridge, printer profiling, or professional portrait production is a strong plus.

More Than Photoshop

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both technology and their hands.

One part of your day may involve making precise color adjustments in Photoshop.

The next may involve producing a large-format portrait, cutting and mounting it, preparing it for framing, inspecting the finished artwork, and helping prepare it for presentation to the client.
