Performsavarietyof tasksassociated withcampusfunctions andeventsthatinclude Audio/Visual and support services:

 

  • Operates,maintains,and safeguards the technical assets of the Fine Arts Auditorium,Theatre,andother venues.Duties include supervising the use and maintenance oflighting,sound,communicationsequipment,andstagefacilities.
  • Determines theappropriate technicalsupport suchaslighting,sound,staging, and unique needs,necessary for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates.
  • Designs,setsup,maintains, andoperates lightingandsound systems for theatre, dance, music,and other productions and projects; assists guest designers and arts with technical matters.
  • Advises production managers, lighting and sound designers,on the technical specifications,costsandusage oftechnicalequipment requiredfortheindividual show and supervises the implementations of approved technicaldesigns.
  • Orients facilityrentersandvisitingproductions tosafety,technicalcharacteristics, and other areas of facility operations; facilitates the use of the technical facilities by the resident company and others engaged by or renting the facility.
  • Monitors thecondition of equipment including lighting,sound, and rigging equipment;arranges fortherepair andreplacement withinbudgetary constraints; performs preventive maintenanceon equipment.
  • Maintainsinventoryandordersspecializedsupplies.
  • Attendstechnical rehearsals to superviseandassistinthetechnicalaspectsof upcoming productions.
  • Assist inbudget preparation andmake recommendationstoCSI administration regarding purchases of technical equipment.
  • Providestechnicalassistance to otherCSIoperating unitsandfacilities astime permits.
  • Otherdutiesasassignedbysupervisor.

  • Assistsinrecruiting, trainingandassignment ofvolunteer orpaidtechnical staff for individual shows.
  • OverseebothCSIandguestproductionstagecrewsandvolunteers.

 

 SPECIFICSKILLSANDTECNICHALEXPERTISEREQUIRED

  

  • Abilityto provide technicalsupportinwiderangeofproductions suchasmusical, theatrical, dance, speakers, etc.
  • Working understandingandabilitytosafelydesignandimplement widerangeof systems such as sound, audio,video,streaming,stage setup,and stage management.
  • Abilityto communicateandwork wellinagroupenvironment. Mustbeableto establish andmaintain effective working relationships with representativesof various groups, vendors, co-workers, and others.
  • Abilityto analyzeandevaluate theneedfortechnicalsupport forupcoming events and performances.
  • Adesireandabilitytoexpandareasofexpertiseintechnical systems.
  • Experienceworkingwith computers;PC,Mac,tablets,etc.
  • Experiencewithcontemporarydesignandtheatricalpresentation software,i.e. Vectorworks, Q-Lab, Sketch-up, etc.
  • Generalknowledgeoflow-voltageelectronicsandabilitytodiagnoseproblems.

  

EDUCATION/TRAININGREQUIRED

 

  • HighSchoolDegreeorEquivalent
  • Associate’s degreePreferred
  • Requires twoyearsofexperience inAVproductionenvironment orequivalent experience/education.

 

 WORK SCHEDULE ANDCONDITIONS

  

  • Mustbeabletowork non-traditionalhours thatincludeeveningsandweekends.
  • Mustbeabletoaccommodate irregularschedule withlongworkdays andvarying days off.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and maintain composure
