Perform finishing operations such as sanding, grinding, trimming, polishing, deburring, and surface blending.
Prepare parts for coating, painting, bonding, or final assembly. Remove excess material, flash burrs, or imperfections in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
Inspect parts for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship quality. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Follow aerospace manufacturing procedures, quality requirements, and documentation standards. Record work performed and inspection results in manufacturing or quality systems.
Identify and report nonconforming conditions and support corrective action efforts. Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
Comply with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, including proper use of PPE.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions • Manual dexterity and experience with precision hand and power tools • Knowledge of surface finish requirements and cosmetic standards • Basic understanding of aerospace quality systems (AS9100 preferred)
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing, finishing, composites, or metal fabrication preferred. On-the-job training provided for aerospace-specific processes.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and vibration. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to stand for extended periods and lift components as required.
