MSI-Viking Gage is seeking a Finishing Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for the final cleaning, preparation, and packaging of calibrated gages before they are returned to customers. The Finishing Associate helps ensure equipment leaves our facility clean, protected, properly packaged, and ready for shipment.
This position will also provide backup support to Shipping & Receiving as needed.
Repsonsibilities
Clean and prepare calibrated gages and equipment following completion of calibration.
Inspect gages for cleanliness and overall condition prior to packaging.
Apply protective coatings and wax dip gages when required to help prevent corrosion during storage and shipment.
Properly package calibrated gages and equipment to help prevent damage during transportation.
Match gages and equipment with the appropriate paperwork, accessories, cases, and other materials before shipment.
Verify items are complete and ready for shipment before releasing them to Shipping.
Maintain a clean and organized finishing/work area.
Safely handle precision measuring equipment and customer-owned property.
Follow established quality procedures and work instructions.
Communicate any damaged, missing, or questionable items to the appropriate team member before shipment.
Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of packaging, cleaning, and finishing materials.
Provide backup support for Shipping & Receiving as needed, including receiving and verifying incoming shipments, preparing outgoing shipments, generating shipping labels and documentation, and moving incoming and outgoing equipment to the appropriate areas.
Follow company safety requirements and proper material-handling procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, finishing, or a similar environment is helpful but not required.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
Ability to safely handle delicate and precision equipment.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work independently while also supporting a team.
Dependable and able to manage changing priorities throughout the day.
Strong focus on quality and accuracy.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to regularly bend, reach, stoop, and lift while preparing and moving equipment.
Ability to lift and carry packages, gages, and other materials associated with the position.
Ability to safely use carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as required.
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning, packaging, and handling tasks.
