Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for finishing machine attendant positions on the second shift at a manufacturing company in Sandy Hook, CT. These are temp-to-hire positions.
The hours are 4 p.m.-2 a.m., Monday-Thursday. Training is required on the first shift, 6 a.m.-4 p.m. The salary is $17 an hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fan through cartons being fed into machines to insure they are the correct ones and weed out the damaged ones
- Place cartons in feed hopper of machines in accordance with instructions of the machine operator
- Start and stop machines on instruction or if machine is not operating properly
- Observe the functions of the machine and notify the operator or supervisor of any malfunction
- Pick cartons off machine belt and check for defects.
- When packing corrugated cases, check to make certain the right cases are being used
- Maintain integrity of the carton count and pack in accordance with customer specifications
- Sort through finished cartons, inspect for defects and repack for shipment to customer.
- Maintain departmental and plant safety practices
- Enforce plant safety and general housekeeping procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including standing and bending and moderate lifting
- Communication skills
- Organization skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to pass pre-employment screenings
