Department: Production / Manufacturing in a printing envirnment
Reports To: Finishing Supervisor or Production Manager
The Finishing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment used in the final stages of the production process. This role ensures that products are completed to quality standards, properly packaged, and ready for shipment. Tasks may include trimming, folding, binding, labeling, inspecting, and packaging materials based on job specifications.
Operate finishing equipment such as folders, cutters, laminators, binders, or labelers depending on the product type
Perform setup, adjustments, and calibration of machines to ensure optimal output
Inspect finished products for defects, quality, and adherence to customer specifications
Package, label, and prepare completed items for shipment or storage
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of finishing equipment
Record production data, job progress, and material usage
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., quality control, shipping) to meet deadlines
Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Suggest improvements to workflow, quality, or safety as appropriate
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience in a finishing or manufacturing role (preferred)
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to follow written instructions, work orders, and technical drawings
Physical stamina to lift, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fast-paced production environment
May involve exposure to noise, dust, or chemicals depending on the facility
Standing and repetitive motion throughout shift
Occasional overtime or shift work depending on production need
