Finishing Operator

=T Shift: 1st Shift | 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM (30-min lunch)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Finishing Operator I to support high-volume production operations within a manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up and operating machinery and performing repetitive finishing tasks such as grinding, cutting, and surface treatment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate finishing equipment including grinders, sandblasters, speed testers, and balancing machines
- Perform finishing operations such as grinding, cutting to dimensions, dressing, deburring, and small sandblasting
- Load and unload materials manually or with hoists or lifting devices
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain production quality
- Follow work orders, instructions, and production specifications
- Record production and processing data in required systems and documentation
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Materials & Equipment Exposure
- Abrasive wheels and segments
- Ceramic finishing materials and kiln furniture
- Production machinery requiring basic setup and adjustment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive work
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (more with assistance)
- Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses

- Position requires approximately up to 3 months to reach full proficiency
- Work is routine, process-driven, and high production in nature
