We are looking for a skilled and motivated Finishing Team Lead to join a growing manufacturing team. This person will help supervise and coordinate daily paint, prep, and finishing operations while making sure all finished products meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who has strong finishing experience, understands coating and paint processes, and enjoys helping a team stay organized, productive, and safe.
Pay: $35–$40 per hour, based on experience
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate painters, prep technicians, and finishing team members.
Assign work based on job orders, drawings, and production schedules.
Monitor productivity and help ensure work is completed on time.
Provide hands-on support with surface prep, masking, sanding, cleaning, coating application, and final finishing.
Train and mentor team members on proper finishing techniques and safety practices.
Inspect finished work for coverage, adhesion, thickness, and appearance.
Coordinate with production, engineering, electrical, project management, and quality teams.
Maintain accurate work orders, production records, time tracking, and output reporting.
Monitor paint, coatings, and supply levels.
Help maintain spray equipment, booths, ventilation systems, and clean work areas.
Promote safe work practices, including PPE use, OSHA compliance, chemical handling, and waste disposal.
Requirements
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
3–5 years of experience in paint, coating, or finishing operations.
Technical training in coatings or industrial finishing.
Manufacturing or prefabricated building experience.
Experience with industrial spray equipment, curing systems, or lean manufacturing.
Strong understanding of coating systems, surface preparation, curing, and finish quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, job specifications, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe chemical handling.
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organization skills.
Ability to delegate, prioritize, and keep a team accountable.
High school diploma or GED.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
