Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler Inspector

The Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and basic troubleshooting of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. This position can complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and prodedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
• Independently perform fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA standards and local codes.
• Conduct device activation, system functionality checks, and alarm verification.
• Identify and diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems as qualified.
• Interpret system drawings, layouts, and technical documents.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and company vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform inspections and testing.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• NICET Level 2 and FASA Certification required.
• Independently capable in core technical functions.
• Able to complete standard jobs without direct supervision.

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing ladders.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

Pay:

• $27 to $32 depending on certifications & experience.
• Company vehicle.
• Weekly pay.
