In this role you will prepare cost estimates and bid proposals for fire alarm projects review construction documents and partner with internal teams subcontractors vendors and clients to win and execute work. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills sharp attention to detail the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and a self-starter mindset capable of managing multiple priorities under deadline.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare estimates and bid proposals based on evaluation of construction documents.Review construction and fire alarm drawings to identify scope requirements and potential risks.Develop and carry out sales strategies in coordination with department leadership.Attend project walk-throughs and identify factors that will affect cost estimates.Interact with all internal groups and communicate pertinent project information.Communicate professionally with subcontractors vendors and clients throughout the estimating process.Exhibit the value of competencies for the company department employees and business partners.Promote a positive safety culture by adhering to policies and procedures set by the department.QualificationsHigh School Diploma required Associates Degree preferred.One to 5 years of experience in a related field andor estimating.Ability to read understand and interpret plans and specifications.Strong analytical and conceptual skills.Ability to conduct a thorough review of plans and specs.Ability to prepare and complete all phases of quantity survey work and pricing.Strong computer and mathematical skills with the ability to perform accurate analysis within deadlines.Demonstrated people skills with the ability to supervise others and assign work on a priority basis.Self-starter detail-oriented and able to multi-task effectively.Ability to represent the company professionally in all interactions.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Bluebeam and On Screen Takeoff required.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentMostly office environment with potential for moderate noise from computers printers and light office traffic.Occasional visits to job sites where the environment will vary depending on the type of organization.Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.The salary for this role is90000 to 100000 per year based on experience and qualifications.As part of the DU Family of Companies we believe that empowering and investing in our employees as leaders develops an organization that delivers innovative solutions and services that create a superior customer experience.
