This teammate will design coordinate project manage the fire alarm system installation for new construction or building retrofits or upgrades. He or she will design and create the finished representation for the fire alarm system using drafting skills and tools and will coordinate the design with the applicable code specifications structural architectural and other building elements. ResponsibilitiesTeam Player holds themselves accountable first and before other team members.Throughout the duration of the project remains the Face" of VFPG to the customer.Schedule field labor to meet the demands of each jobs schedule working with the superintendentReview each drawing to ensure that our design is meeting the requirements of each projectTrack each projects financials to ensure that each job is meeting the offices goalsComplete monthly WIP reportsOrder parts required for the projectReview and distribute all safety related documentstrainings to meet company and project specific safety goalsInteract with customers on many levels including scheduling project management conflict resolution and sales opportunitiesAttend all required project job meetingsTrack and maintain records for all RFIs PRs ASIs etc. that pertain to each projectPropose change orders as needed to maintain each projects financial goalsInteract with office admin team to ensure that payroll is completed and charged to the correct phaseInteract with other departments to coordinate labor and other functions that contribute to each project successDraft financial statistical narrative andor other reports as requestedComplete special projects as required Create detailed drawings and pull required permitsPerform calculations needed Other duties as assigned and as the business needs adjust.What makes someone successful in this roleConstant pursuit of excellence on behalf of our customers meeting and exceeding their expectations creating a simple worry-free and effortless experience.A relentless pursuit of knowledge about emerging technologies in the life safety industry including updated policies and regulations in your market.Regularly participating in the Learning and Development opportunities available through VFPG and API Group.RequirementsFundamental knowledge of construction industry circuitry and electrical aptitude is a plusStrong background in project management functionsState specific Qualifying Agent.High aptitude for customer service.Advanced written verbal presentation and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Paying attention to the details in all aspects of your work.6 years industry related experience. Experience managing projects of all sizes. Ability to work independently and with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.Strong oral and written communications skills ability to professionally communicate with all levels of leadership customers and employees.Strong organizational skills multi-tasking skills ability to be resourceful and proactive when completing dutiesWillingness to assist with miscellaneous projects as needed.Education High school diploma or equivalent.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
