Description
Tesla is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer dedicated to refining design requirements and manage internal design processes for its Fire Facilities Maintenance Organization. The ideal candidate is proficient in Fire Alarm and Special Hazards systems operation as well as design intent, and will utilize their knowledge to assist in the commissioning and turnover of new fire systems.
Continue the development of fire alarm and special hazards design requirements for Tesla Facilities team
Vetting fire alarm, special hazards, and sprinkler designs submitted from Infrastructure teams through BIM and design review processes (kickoffs, 30/60/90, IFC)
Develop process improvements, workflows, and templates to increase design productivity and quality of deliverables
Assist with as-built submissions and internal fire protection designs as needed
Assist in final commissioning of fire protection systems through acceptance testing
Assist in hazards analysis and team protocols by providing professional input from personal experience and life safety codes and recommendations
Comprehensive knowledge in OSHA, IFC, IBC, and NFPA standards and codes to ensure fire alarm, special hazards and water-based systems and life safety system designs and installations are code compliant
Comprehensive background in fire alarm system and special hazards integration
Self-starter that can adapt to fast paced, high-volume environments
Strong communication, prioritization, and data analysis skills
Texas State APS, EPL, and/or RME-G preferred
NICET certified in Special Hazards, Water Based Systems, and Fire Alarm Systems preferred
