We’re looking for a Fire Alarm Estimator & Designer for medium and large systems. The successful candidate will support projects from bid through final acceptance, serving as a technical resource for project managers during the pre-construction phase. This role is well suited to someone with fire alarm design construction sales experience who enjoys working in a challenging and fun workplace.
Job Responsibilities
Fire Alarm Estimating. Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate material takeoffs and labor estimates to prepare detailed proposals.
Fire Alarm System Design. Design code-compliant fire alarm systems for commercial and institutional projects. Prepare shop drawings, riser diagrams, battery calculations, voltage-drop calculations, and sequences of operation. Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and project managers, and develop permit and submittal packages for customers and AHJs.
Pre-Construction Support. Serve as a code expert and technical resource through the permitting phase of construction.

Qualifications
NICET Level III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC, IFC, NEC, and applicable local fire alarm codes
Experience estimating and designing medium and large commercial fire alarm systems including networked systems, smoke control, mass notification, and voice evacuation systems
Ability to produce compliant fire alarm system designs and submittal packages in Bluebeam. Experience with Fire CAD is a plus.
Experience working with AHJ’s in western Washington for design approval and inspections.
Outside sales, customer development, or account management experience are a plus.
Experience estimating fire alarm projects from plans and specifications including ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and sequence of operations as required to develop system designs
Experience with Siemens or other major fire alarm systems, including design, programming, startup, and troubleshooting is a plus
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
