Description
We are seeking an experienced NICET II Certified Fire Alarm Field Engineer / Manager to support a large national retail program. This is not a typical inspection role. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technical expert, validating installations, troubleshooting complex fire alarm systems, ensuring quality standards, and supporting field teams in delivering reliable life safety solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Validate commercial fire alarm installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, manufacturer standards, and applicable codes.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex fire alarm system issues.
Perform system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance inspections.
Provide technical leadership and support to field technicians and project teams.
Review installation quality and verify systems are installed correctly.
Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with project managers, customers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.
Prepare service reports, inspection documentation, and project records.
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety policies.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships while representing the organization professionally.
Required Qualifications
NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Required).
5+ years of experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, or inspecting commercial fire alarm systems.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and commercial fire alarm codes and standards.
Experience with commercial fire alarm systems and life safety equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large retail or multi-site commercial projects.
Experience with leading fire alarm manufacturers such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire-Lite, Honeywell, Bosch, or Silent Knight.
Previous experience mentoring technicians or leading field teams.
Knowledge of integrated life safety, security, and access control systems.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year
Full-time, permanent position
Standard Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
