Fire Alarm Installer Helper

Job Summary

We are seeking Fire Alarm Installer Helpers to support the installation of fire alarm and life-safety systems on a large-scale data center construction project.

This is a hands-on, field-based role working alongside experienced technicians, foremen, and supervisors. Training will be provided, making this opportunity suitable for candidates with fire alarm, electrical, low-voltage, or related construction experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation of fire alarm and life-safety systems.

Pull and route fire alarm cable through conduit and between equipment boxes.

Install and connect fire alarm devices and low-voltage components.

Assist with installation of air-aspiration/VESDA system components.

Read and follow construction drawings, layouts, and installation instructions.

Measure, align, and install components according to project requirements.

Use basic hand tools for installation work.

Work from aerial lifts and ladders as required.

Assist as a ground-level spotter during lift operations.

Set up barricades and maintain safe work areas around lifts.

Follow required PPE and site safety procedures.

Communicate clearly with supervisors, foremen, and other team members.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Perform other duties related to the installation project as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Comfortable working in an active construction environment.

Ability to work from ladders and lifts.

Ability to lift and move tools and materials as required.

Reliable transportation to the worksite.

Ability to complete required site onboarding and screening requirements.

Preferred:

Previous fire alarm installation experience.

Electrical or low-voltage construction experience.

Experience with fire alarm, security, communications, or similar low-voltage systems.

Aerial lift certification.

Experience reading construction drawings.

NICET certification.

Fire alarm experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant electrical or low-voltage experience may also be considered.

Training

Initial orientation and onboarding will be provided.

Job-specific hands-on training will be provided by experienced personnel.

Lift certification/training may be provided as needed.

New team members will initially work closely with experienced technicians and supervisors before taking on more independent responsibilities.

Work Environment

Active data center construction environment.

Work may involve lifts, ladders, PPE, and construction equipment.

Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet and performing physical installation activities.

Site conditions may vary, including warmer temperatures in certain work areas.

Clear communication and attention to safety are important for this role.

Transportation & Site Access

Reliable personal transportation is required. Candidates must be able to travel to the worksite in Rock Hill, SC each workday.

The project site requires authorized badge access. Once parked in the designated area, a site shuttle is available to transport workers to the work area.

Location: Rock Hill, SC 29732

Shift hours: Monday Friday; 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Approximately 40 hours per week; Regular weekend work and overtime are not currently expected but may vary based on project requirements.
