Job Position: Fire Alarm Service & Installation Technician
Location: Austin, TX 78758
Pay Rate: $22 $38
TradSTAR is hiring experienced Fire Alarm Service & Installation Technicians for commercial projects throughout the Austin area. We're looking for technicians with strong installation, service, troubleshooting, and programming experience who can deliver quality work while maintaining compliance with NFPA and NEC standards.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test, and commission addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
Service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems.
Program and configure fire alarm control panels and field devices.
Install and troubleshoot SLC loops, NAC circuits, initiating devices, notification appliances, relays, and power supplies.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and project specifications.
Perform acceptance testing and complete required documentation.
Ensure installations comply with NFPA 72, NEC, manufacturer specifications, and local AHJ requirements.
Qualifications
2+ years of commercial fire alarm experience preferred.
Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 72.
Experience with Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Edwards/EST, Siemens, Simplex, Bosch, or Gamewell-FCI systems.
Experience using multimeters and manufacturer programming software.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver's license required.
Texas Fire Alarm License and/or NICET certification preferred.
