Put your fire alarm experience to work on commercial projects throughout the San Antonio area. TradeSTAR is hiring for a client seeking an experienced Level II Fire Alarm Technician who can install, test, troubleshoot, and help keep projects moving.

What You ll Do
As a Level II Fire Alarm Technician, you ll work on commercial fire alarm installations and may be responsible for:
Installing fire alarm cable, pathways, support structures, and devices
Installing and terminating horn/strobes, pull stations, smoke detectors, duct detectors, and related equipment
Performing select fire alarm panel terminations
Testing systems and troubleshooting ground faults and other system issues
Using a volt-ohm meter and applying Ohm s Law when troubleshooting circuits
Reading blueprints and determining cable pathways
Maintaining proper circuit integrity and following applicable fire alarm installation standards
Assisting with system testing and certification
Providing progress reports, material lists, and test results when required
Potentially helping lead crews of up to five technicians

What We re Looking For
You should bring solid commercial fire alarm experience and be comfortable working with limited supervision.

Qualified candidates should have:
Hands-on commercial fire alarm installation and troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of fire alarm initiating devices, notification appliances, control equipment, and related components
Experience reading blueprints and identifying cable routes
Experience with system testing and troubleshooting
Understanding of DC circuits, resistance, voltage drop, and basic AC circuits
Working knowledge of NFPA 72 principles and fire alarm installation requirements
Ability to use a volt-ohm meter for testing and troubleshooting
Ability to calculate proper wire sizing and overcurrent protection
Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) typically required for this skill level
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a field team

Compensation
$26 $30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
