Salary Details:

Compensation Range Starting: $25-50.00/hr. A comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and holiday time, and a 401 (k) matching program.

Fire Alarm Technician / Foreman - Commercial

Position Summary:

PEC Commercial Solutions, Inc. is looking for experienced Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Technicians. Candidates must have prior experience with electrical installation and service work.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who provides high-quality artistry, has excellent customer service skills in person and over the phone, and can multitask under pressure. Must be able to work alone. Need to be able to climb ladders and lift at least 60 lbs. Must be proficient with a laptop. Wage is determined by experience.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams
  • Install and maintain wiring, control, and field devices
  • Inspect low-voltage components, such as initiating and notification breakers
  • Identify problems with a variety of testing devices
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
  • Repair or replace wiring and equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and NFPA Codes
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair wiring or equipment
  • Order and manage needed equipment and materials.
  • Bend and install EMT.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be responsible and have a team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient knowledge of the NEC & NFPA
  • Ability to think on your feet and problem solve.
  • You must have a valid, current driver's license and not have had a DUI or DWI in the last five years.
  • Applicants may be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to a background check and a motor vehicle record check.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment includes active construction sites and environmentally controlled indoor sites. Employees may be exposed to noise levels ranging from low to loud, and all employees will be required to wear provided hearing protection.
  • This position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather scenarios, including hot and cold, and in finished and occupied buildings.
  • When appropriate, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with company standards and government regulations.
