Johnson Controls Fire Protection, LP seeks Fire Installer V at its facility located at 2320 N 12th St, Fargo, North Dakota 58102.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, service fire alarm systems, access control and CCTV systems as well as other related building system products at customer sites including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and testing. Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks. Focus on networked fire alarm systems and also involve in the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels. Perform installation/programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems. Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot and repair as needed. Participate in after-hours service program. Communicate with central dispatch on current work order status and receive updates on outstanding customer issues. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals. Inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer and contract specifications. Complete necessary certification courses on internal and external products used. Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner. Apply functional area skills and knowledge including underlying professional/technical principles or standards. Apply judgment based on practice and precedence. Resolve problems through research of multiple alternatives. Perform and/or support the installation of fire related and/or other building systems products. Ability to program or experience with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security, CCTV, and clocks. Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and be able to follow it up with RFIs with suggested solutions. Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Ability to effectively communicate project status to management. Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required. No Telecommuting Allowed. 90% domestic travel required to customer sites. Travel Requirements: 90% of national travel required to domestic sites.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires seven (7) years of experience as a Fire Installer, Fire Alarm Technician, or related occupation involving Fire Alarm and other low voltage systems. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Simplex programming software to include 4007/4100ES programmer, Network Programmer, and TSW Configurator; (2) Advanced knowledge of custom control programming via SMPL language; (3) Coordinating project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time; (4) Utilization and application of industry related equipment including fiber testers and other network tools, audibility testing equipment, digital multimeters, and software-based tools; and (5) Electronic sprinkler pre-action and agent releasing systems.
