SUMMARY

The Fire Marshal performs a variety of administrative, technical and supervisory work related to fire prevention, fire code inspection and enforcement, plan reviews, fire investigations, and fire and life safety education; Assists the Fire Chief as assigned in the support of all-hazard emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Fire Science, Fire Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Education, or other related discipline. (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Minimum of three years of fire service experience in the areas of suppression, prevention, or inspections.

Certifications and/or licenses Required

• NE driver's license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must maintain licensure throughout term of employment.
• ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800.
• NFPA Fire Inspector I certification.
• NFPA Fire Plans Examiner I.
• IFSAC/ProBoard Fire Investigator I certification or equivalent IAAI/NAFI Certification.
• NFPA Fire Inspector II certification within one year of date of appointment.

HOURS

Full-time, Monday - Friday. May be called upon during emergencies.
