Location: Long Beach, CA or Seattle, WASchedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 remote)Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $115,000 - $150,000We are seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer with 5-9 years of experience . This is a great opportunity to contribute to diverse, high-impact projects while continuing to grow your technical expertise in fire protection and life safety systems.Position ResponsibilitiesPerform fire and building code analysisDesign fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and specialized suppression systemsDevelop system layouts and construction documentsPerform sprinkler hydraulic calculations and fire alarm calculationsConduct site assessments and prepare technical reportsSupport senior engineers with engineering analyses (e.g., smoke control, hazardous materials, energy storage systems, combustible dust)Provide construction phase support, including:Responding to RFIsReviewing submittalsParticipating in punch walksMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field5-9 years of experience in fire protection system design (sprinkler and/or fire alarm)Proficiency in AutoCAD and RevitExperience with sprinkler calculation software (e.g., AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC)Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA standardsPreferred QualificationsExperience with healthcare, education, and/or federal projectsMaster's degree in Fire ProtectionExposure to project management or business developmentEIT or PE licenseNICET certification (Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm)Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerP2S and its affiliate companies are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
