Job Description

Revise and process redline drawings provided by the shop, field, and engineering teams. Create design drawing packages referencing project specifications, codes, and project requirements for submittal to customers and AHJs. Assist with the creation of documentation and processing of document revisions. Attend manufacturer training classes. Obtain and maintain the licenses and certifications required for a fire alarm and fire suppression designer. Assist with inspections and startups as needed. Provide technical and design support to other departments. Survey job sites, including active data center projects, to ensure proper system design. Comply with company and customer safety policies. Perform any additional duties as assigned. Note: The initial 6 months of employment may be spent in the field technician department to gain hands-on experience with system types and on-site conditions. During this time, you will accompany field technicians to perform fire protection services, inspections, and commissioning of fire alarm and suppression systems. When not in the field, time will be spent in the engineering department supporting the engineering team with the responsibilities listed above. Candidates without prior design or fire protection experience are expected to spend personal time learning the design software used in the engineering department.

Requirements Technical mindset and willingness to learn. Desire to build a career in engineering and fire protection design. Preferred Skills Experience with AutoCAD software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Previous experience in fire protection, fire suppression, or related MEP fields. Experience with 3D design software (BIM, Revit, etc.).
