Responsibilities:
Plan and perform testing and inspection of sprinkler, standpipe, and related water-based fire protection systems per NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and local code standards, noting existing and potential deficiencies;
Prepare accurate and timely inspection, service, and flow test reports;
Perform complete site surveys for potential PM inspections and system changes/modifications, prepare corresponding quotations;
Verify and oversee acceptance testing of new sprinkler installations, including hydrostatic, flushing, and trip tests;
Troubleshoot deficiencies in sprinkler systems, valves, fire pumps, hydrants, and backflow preventers;
Perform pre-testing and final inspections for assigned projects in coordination with GC, AHJ, and owners;
Develop and perform PITCO (Pre-Inspection Testing and Check-Out) activities for sprinkler systems prior to final acceptance;
Perform hydraulic calculations, main drain tests, fire pump performance checks, and water supply evaluations;
Create redline drawings of sprinkler layouts and riser details for as-built preparation;
Complete job-related documentation including Reports of Completion (ROC), Test Forms, Flow Test Records, and Deficiency Lists;
Ensure compliance with all applicable NFPA codes, UFC, GSA P-100, insurance, and local AHJ requirements;
Conduct research using NFPA standards, manufacturer installation manuals, and technical data sheets to determine material requirements, installation procedures, and system upgrades.
