Position Overview
GTI Energy is seeking a Fire Suppression Integrator to support the installation and integration of fire protection systems within modular data center and industrial infrastructure builds. This role is responsible for assembling and installing prefabricated fire suppression piping, sprinkler systems, risers, valves, and related fire protection components within modular assemblies.
The ideal candidate has experience with sprinkler systems, mechanical piping installation, and fire protection layouts in industrial or commercial environments. This role requires the ability to read technical drawings, coordinate system integration activities, and maintain strict compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Suppression System Installation
• Install fire suppression systems, including wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems, within modular builds
• Assemble and install prefabricated piping, risers, valves, sprinkler heads, and related components
• Align and secure threaded, grooved, and flanged pipe connections
• Install hangers, supports, seismic bracing, and mounting systems for fire protection piping
System Integration & Mechanical Coordination
• Integrate fire suppression systems with structural, mechanical, and electrical components within modular units
• Ensure proper routing and placement of piping in coordination with other trades and systems
• Support connection of fire protection systems to controls, alarms, and monitoring interfaces
• Verify accessibility, serviceability, and installation quality of completed systems
Blueprint & Layout Interpretation
• Read and interpret fire protection drawings, isometric drawings, layout plans, and mechanical prints
• Follow Bills of Material (BOMs) and system specifications to ensure accurate installation
• Identify and resolve layout conflicts, fit-up issues, and installation challenges
• Ensure installations meet design intent and applicable code requirements
Testing, Inspection & Quality
• Support hydrostatic testing, leak testing, and inspection activities
• Inspect installations to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and project specifications
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and minimize rework through accurate installations
• Support commissioning and final validation of installed systems
Safety & Compliance
• Perform all work in compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures
• Ensure fire protection systems comply with NFPA codes and customer requirements
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout production activities
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement activities
• Identify opportunities to improve installation flow, efficiency, and production throughput
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and corrective action efforts when needed
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support project execution
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper system integration within modular units
• Communicate material shortages, drawing concerns, or production issues proactively
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• 2–5 years of experience as a Fire Suppression Installer, Sprinkler Fitter, or Fire Protection Technician
• Experience installing wet, dry, or pre-action fire suppression systems
• Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings, isometric drawings, and system layouts
• Experience installing threaded, grooved, and flanged piping systems
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system requirements
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift, move, and install mechanical piping components safely
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or data center environments
• Background in industrial or commercial fire protection systems
• NICET certification (Level I or higher) in Fire Protection Systems
• Experience supporting hydrostatic testing and fire system inspections
• Familiarity with chilled water systems, mechanical piping, or integrated mechanical systems
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
