Position is located on Ascension Island. As a place to live and work, Ascension offers a positive work-life balance with all the attractions of island life right on your doorstep; an excellent climate, fishing, diving, snorkeling, and walking to name a few.
This position will be responsible for providing Fire and Emergency Services, utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements, and will report to the assigned Crew Chief. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Place of performance is on the USSF base on Ascension Island.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED, Firefighting School Graduate Desired
Training must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Professional Qualification System (NPQS).
Experience:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have a minimum of one year experience at the duty position.
Fire service certifications must be either DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Firefighter is required.
A minimum of Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter (ARFF), Hazmat awareness and operations.
A Valid CPR card issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
Must pass an entry-level physical examination in accordance with NFPA 1582.
Valid Driver License from country of origin.
English proficiency rating by TOEFL or IELTS for Writing, Conversation, and Comprehension.
Preferred:
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Apparatus Driver
Mobile Water Supply
ARFF vehicles
Prior work experience in managing fire services in austere environments is highly desired.
2- and 4-year degrees are strongly preferred.
Skills & Technology Used:
Knowledge of fire protection mission and organization; fire safety requirements and objectives; firefighting and rescue procedures and techniques, firefighter training requirements,
Knowledge of firefighting apparatus and equipment maintenance and operation, alarm and suppression system operation; water supply systems; hazardous materials.
